Cinema Paradiso

Hello and welcome back, today I will be doing something different and laying out a group of pictures representing my Cinema Paradiso within the school I attend. I am not overly interesting so bear with me :)

Top Left: Clock- representing the time that I have spent in school which is ending soon!
Top Right: Relationships- Representing the friends that I spend time with.
Bottom Left: My iPod- Representing a taste in music and how much I listen to it.
Bottom Right: Not much to say here... my life is "Out of Order" LOLZ! As in a confusing life of young adults trying to figure out what they want to do with the rest of their lives.

Psycho
(1960)
Thriller/Horror
Directed by: Alfred Hitchcock

Rating Scale:
5 = Absolutely Amazing movie required by law to be seen by every person!
4 = Very Good movie but lacking in a few areas.
3 = OK. Lacks quite a bit.
2 = Well.... its pretty bad but there are a few scenes that will get you going.
1 = I laugh at its crappiness! But hey its better then a 0.
0 = BURN IT!!! at this point I feel that anyone involved should have been fired and declined payment for its production.

MY RATING: 3 stars

Actors:
Anthony Perkins - Norman Bates
Janet Leigh - Marion Crane
Vera Miles - Lila Crane
John Gavin - Sam Loomis

Summary: Alfred Hitchcock brings to his audience the first true thriller of all time captured on film. He puzzles you and even me with misdirections in the story line raising confusing questions and pleas for answers. I will describe my reasoning behind a three star vote, give qualities both bad and good of the movie, and finish with some interesting scenes that you may like.
It starts out with an introduction into Marion Crane's life and her sexual life with Sam Loomis. After those two's outing, Alfred leads us down Marions path, stealing 40,000 dollars from her bosses client and sneaking away to find Sam miles away. Along the way she crosses path with a very odd police officer which seemed very unimportant when it appears that he is following her. Marion's quest to reach Sam continues but along the way she needs to stop and rest pulling into the Bates Hotel. The manager/owner is Norman Bates. On the outside he appears as a normal person who is living with his mother, but with a strange sense of uneasiness to him. They discuss random topics and we learn about his mother who is a little sick and secluded within her very own home.
Marion goes back to her room and enters the shower. Next comes the music which throughout the entire movie plays a very important role. It gives you the willies and raises the hair on your neck with its high and quick tones. Back to Marion, she enters the shower and BAM here comes the music and a "lady" that stabs Marion through the shower curtain. One person down.
Marion's boss and his client get a private investigator to track Marion down. The P.I. tracks her down to the Bates Motel. Guess what happens... Another one bites the dust thanks to the same "lady" and crazy music. Dun Dun Dun.
The P.I. was staying in contact with Sam and Marion's sister Lila letting them know that he was suspicious of Norman. When the P.I. does not return they get suspicious and decide to investigate. By this point this entire movie has thrown you around and taken you down many paths. Now if your confused at whats all going at this point the ending take you very a crazy ride!
When Lila and Sam investigate, Lila enters Norman's house and enters the cellar where she finds a body and who can it be!!! Non other then Norman's mom! Crazy I know. Norman has been preserving her body after he killed her and her boyfriend in rage. The people killed at the motel were struck down by Norman's multiple personalities. Norman, after killing his mother, started taking on her personality gaining her jealousy of other women eventually leading him/her to kill the females. Norman's side was the one of slavery where he would clean up after his mother's side of his personality.
This movie was full of strange little twists that leave you wondering so if those are your types of movies I would very much recommend seeing this movie, and also if you enjoy very well done acting. If you cannot handle twists and turns that make your head spin Please Avoid. Some scenes may be a little cheesy (the stabbing scenes) but that is only because of when the movie was produced, but from talks with older generations, this movie was to scary for many to watch.
Well folks this was T's review on Psycho, for now take it easy.
~T Signing Out~ :)

Ben-Hur

This is our classroom discussion podcasted for your listening pleasure. The class asks and replies to some very good and thoughtful questions.
Please enjoy, as I will not be writing my personal thoughts... except that it was a very good movie, and if you have the time rent it and watch it.
My Rating: 4.5/5 Stars
